Discover Quesnel
It has been quite a while since I've made an entry in the eQuesnel Blog. Shame on me.
A couple of new things going on in eQuesnel's development are the Discover Quesnel area, the Cariboo MLA Blog and the CBC Petition.
The
Discover Quesnel
area of eQuesnel is a tourism section that highlights Quesnel's best features. If you have something you'd like added in this section please
contact me
.
The Cariboo MLA Blog is an off-shoot of this Blog system and has been offered to Bob Simpson, Cariboo North MLA. This is scheduled to get off the ground in late September. He will be blogging his experiences in the BC Legislature.
The CBC Petition will also be included on ePrinceGeorge, eWilliamsLake, eNorthernBC, eLowerMainland and eBritishColumbia as well as eQuesnel. The petition will allow you to send an email message to many federal newspapers and to key government officials stating your disapproval of the CBC negotiating process thus far.

Newsletters & Articles
A new page has been added to eQuesnel (and its eNorthernBC cousins):
Newsletters & Articles
.
This page is for anybody who wishes to post their newsletter or wants to write and publish articles or stories. The area can be for personal or business use.
If you or your organization has a newsletter, why not share it with others on the eNorthernBC Network.

Candidates Debate
Most things have been put into place to begin the
Cariboo-North Online Candidates Debate
. The Northern Lights Cafe software has been modified to allow the Candidates to post into their own private subject area. The general public is allowed to view this area but not post. On going debate by the general public in response to the Candidates area will happen in the general discussion area.
The sidebar of this website has a new addition, the Election 2005 area. This area has a few backgrounder pages with information about our riding and its history, the candidates, some resource links and a link to the debating area of the candidates.
This is a great experiment and if everyone is respectful and the candidates feel safe they can use this forum, then a great ongoing political debate should happen between the candidates and the voters. We could possible make a little BC political history here this election.

It's happening. Next step, foster debate among posters in sync with cyberdebate. Then spread the word to bring in more posters to create more action and energy. Might want to talk to the two camps to have their followers post in a supportive role as well. I have done this with Bob's camp - but will again. We might want to think about how to bring in the WL people as well.
Cheers
